The Pambansang Katipunan ng mga Magbubukid - National Democratic Front of the Philippines (PKM-NDFP) today assailed the Aquino regime’s Charter change (Cha-cha) as “a shameless sell-out of the national patrimony and economic sovereignty for the benefit of monopoly capitalist interests and local ruling class of big landlords and comprador bourgeoisie.”

“Aquino and his lackeys’ hell-bent political maneuvering to remove any remaining provisions that support national patrimony is a brazen puppetry to the United States,” says PKM spokesperson Andres Agtalon.

Agtalon said that “these maneuvers are all in obedience with the US’ marching orders to the Aquino regime for the full-scale liberalization and deregulation of the economy.”

“In the name of attracting foreign investments, the Aquino regime has been pushing for 100% foreign ownership of lands, utilities, and allow foreign companies to operate in the country,” he said.

“Aquino’s shameless puppetry and sell-out of lands to foreigners is bound to worsen the problem of landlessness and eviction of peasants from their farmlands,” Agtalon said.

“The Filipino peasantry will be the hardest hit by Aquino’s Cha-cha scheme that will further deepen the semi-feudal exploitation, oppression, hunger and poverty,” the PKM spokesperson said.

Agtalon called on the Filipino peasantry to unite and rally all patriotic forces to fight and frustrate the US-dictated Charter change of the Aquino regime.

“More than ever, the Filipino peasantry must steel the determination to resist and thwart Aquino’s Cha-cha scheme and advance the life and death struggle for agrarian revolution, national liberation, and genuine democracy,” Agtalon said. #
