In averting calamities, the NDFP-Mindanao challenges the Aquino government to stop large-scale mining, logging and agri-business operations

Hundreds of thousands in Mindanao, and millions nationwide, have, in the last month, become victims of calamities wrought by inclement weather. Human casualties and damage to property are seen to rise in the entire stretch of the coming "wet" summer season. This no less calls for immediate as well as long term measures that the current reactionary government under Noynoy Aquino should imperatively act on.

AFP/PNP twisting facts to downplay legitimate NPA action vs. abusive Gov. Plaza's private army cum PNP in Trento, AgSur

Roel Agustin II, Conrado Heredia Command
New People's Army-Southern Mindanao
February 4, 2011

The February 1 early morning raid and disarming operation against a mercenary outpost of the 1403rd Police Provincial Mobile Group of the PNP and Gov. Edie Bong Plaza's private armed group in Pulang Lupa, Trento, Agusan del Sur has thrown both the PNP and the AFP into a frenzy of lies and distortion of facts to smokescreen their glaring defeat and vilify this latest triumph of the people's army.

Truth be told, the armed installation attacked by the Red fighters on Tuesday, despite the illogical claims of the enemy, was in fact a legitimate military target as per definition prescribed in Article 52, Protocol 1 of the Geneva Conventions. Being an outpost of an armed unit, it is preposterous to insist that they cannot be deemed as target of tactical offensives by the NPA.

Mensahe sa Ika-42 taong Anibersaryo ng PKP

Jihad Al Kursi
Moro Resistance and Liberation Organization
Disyembre 26, 2010

Assalamu Alaikom Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu!!!

Revelations of large-scale AFP corruption infuriates foot soldiers and people

Communist Party of the Philippines
February 4, 2011

The revelations of former AFP budget officer ex-Lt. Col. George Rabusa that incoming and outgoing top officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) received hundreds of millions of pesos in "pasalubong,” “pabaon" and more “perks” expose the long-running system of large-scale corruption in the highest echelons of command in the government’s armed forces. Further details of bribery, overpricing, juggling and transfers of funds to private accounts and other methods of thievery have been provided by Rabusa, former government auditor Heidi Mendoza and other witnesses. Their testimonies before the Senate and House of Representative have been filled with factual and detailed revelations about the systematic large-scale plunder of public funds by top military officials.

Filipino revolutionary forces are one with the struggle of the Egyptian people

Communist Party of the Philippines
February 4, 2011

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and the Filipino revolutionary forces express their solidarity with the Egyptian people in their struggle to put an end to the 30-year US-backed feudal dictatorship of the Mubarak regime.

The CPP has been intently following developments in Egypt and a number of other Arab countries where intense and widespread people's unrest against decades of feudal dictatorial rule and social miseries have recently been on the rise. In Tunisia, mass demonstrations succeeded in putting an end to the 23-year iron-fisted rule of the Ben Ali regime that wrought socio-political repression and economic hardships on the masses.

The corrupt, mercenary AFP can never be human rights, peace and development fighters

Jorge "Ka Oris" Madlos
National Democratic Front of the Philippines - Mindanao
February 4, 2011

The NDFP-Mindanao condemns the inextricable tradition of corruption within the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). The AFP generalship has become the milking cow of corrupt top officials, using “counter-insurgency and national security” as convenient sales pitch to steal more public funds.

As we condemn, on one hand, corrupt acts within the AFP, we wish, on the other, to laud the uncommon valor displayed by former Commission on Audit auditor and Lt. Col. Heidi Mendoza and Lt. Col George Rabusa who have placed their lives on line for the interest of the people. Their recent exposè however is only the tip of the iceberg because there are still more, such as malfeasance involving the AFPSLAI, CAFGU funds, the Balik Baril Program, anomalous procurement contracts, and many other sources of kickbacks and commissions kept hush by the generals and other top officials of the reactionary government.
