Tineg October incident: marked with inhumanity

Diego Wadagan
NPA Abra (Agustin Begnalen Command)
October 17, 2011

The Agustin Begnalen Command vehemently condemn the fascist troops of the 503rd Brigade and the 41st IB, led by Col. Eliseo Posadas and Col. Noel Baluyan, for the brutal killing and the barbaric desecration of the remains of our 8 comrades who perished in the Tineg October Incident that took place on October 10, 2011. Instead of being awarded by Governor Bersamin a certificate of commendation, Lt. Jeson Capoquian should be held liable for violations of the International Humanitarian Laws and of the CAHRIHL (Comprehensive Agreement on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law).

NDFP-Mindanao condemns the extra-judicial killing of Fr. Fausto Tentorio

NDFP-Mindanao
24 Oktubre 2011

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines in Mindanao (NDFP-Mindanao) condemns in the strongest terms possible the gruesome killing of Italian Catholic priest Fr. Fausto Tentorio. We sympathize with family, friends, and the people of Arakan, North Cotabato, especially with poor peasants and agricultural-workers whom Fr. “Pops,” as he was fondly called, served as a foreign missionary until his death.

Aquino regime is merely pretending for peace negotiations

Fidel V. Agcaoili
Spokesperson, NDFP Negotiating Panel
25 October 2011

Noynoy Aquino presents himself as interested in peace negotiations. But in fact he is not. He is merely pretending to be for peace negotiations in order to camouflage the extremely brutal military operations of Oplan Bayanihan and his actual instructions to Ging Deles, secretary of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process, to invalidate all previous agreements of the Government of the Philippines (GPH/GRP) with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

Fr. Fausto “Pops” Tentorio: Beloved Servant of the Masses

Southern Mindanao Regional Party Committee, CPP
October 25, 2011

A Tribute by Southern Mindanao Regional Party Committee-CPP

To the assassins whose bullets felled him, to the fascist AFP that wanted his head, and to the current oppressive Aquino regime, whose policy is to justify exploitation and intensify oppression, Fr. Fausto “Pops” Tentorio’s death was yet another crime. To the masses, to all peace-loving advocates, to the revolutionary movement, his was a death of a martyr, a beloved servant of the masses.

The GPH is to blame for the stymied peace talks

Formal peace talks between the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) and the Government of the Philippines (GPH) scheduled on October 31-November 12 in Oslo, Norway have been stymied anew. The reason is the GPH's renewed failure to fulfill its obligations under the Oslo Joint Statements of January and February 2011 to release most if not all of the 17 detained NDFP consultants protected by the Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees (JASIG).

The GPH had promised just last September to comply with this obligation on or before October 10 to enable both parties to prepare for their participation in the peace talks in Oslo.

U.S. and NATO are jubilant over the spoils of war in Libya

Prof. Jose Maria Sison
Chairperson, International League of Peoples' Struggle
23 October 2011

The US and its imperialist allies in the NATO targeted Gaddafi and his regime for complete destruction because he had grievously offended them in the following ways: he called for the nationalization and retraction of so-called neoliberal concessions that he had granted to the Western oil companies, he refused to allow the African Command (Africom) of the US to establish its central base in Libya and he pushed a gold-backed dinar as the currency of Africa.

Armed strife in Moro land inevitable as Aquino regime refuses to peacefully resolve Moro peoples's demands

Information Bureau
Communist Party of the Philippines
October 24, 2011

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today warned that armed conflict between the AFP and the revolutionary armed forces of the Moro people is bound to escalate as the Aquino regime continues to deny the just demands of the Bangsamoro for self-determination as the foundation for forging a peace agreement with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

On the Killing of Fr. Fausto Tentorio

The 602nd Brigade of the 6th ID-AFP has gone berserk in unleashing its reign of counter-revolutionary terror, unmasking the misnomer Oplan Bayanihan, in Arakan, North Cotabato, first with the killing of Fr. Fausto “Pops” Tentorio on October 17, and second, with the grave atrocities it committed against the peasant masses on October 20 in Arakan, North Cotabato. The Herminio Alfonso Command, Front 53 Operations, likewise, scoffed the lies perpetrated by the AFP; 57th IB Commanding Officer Col. Joven Gonzales said the raid conducted by the 5th SF acted upon a tip that there were landmines in the area while 602nd Bde Commander Col. Cesar Sedillo and Eastern Mindanao Command spokesperson Col. Leopoldo Galon, Jr, claimed that there was a legitimate encounter with Red Fighters in the area. No such encounter occurred.

An undersized platoon of the 5th Special Forces, operating under the auspices of the 57th IB-602nd Bde, tortured, killed Ramon Batoy, an ordinary civilian and peasant leader, and showed him off as a member of the New People’s Army in Sitio Upper Lumbo, Brgy. Kabalantian, Arakan, North Cotabato. Batoy put up a fight, struck his bolo against the enemy lieutenant who led the raiding Special Forces, and wounded the other soldier before the enemy riddled his body with bullets, in front of his 6-month pregnant wife and two children who asked for their mercy while trying to flee. The enemy placed an M14 rifle, its sling over his lifeless body, and took his picture.

Not content with the cold-blooded murder, the Special Forces also strafed the houses of the civilians, arrested, detained and tortured two other civilians, Noli Badol and Celso Batol, whom they claimed as NPA members. Fearing for their lives, 48 peasant families of sitio upper Lumbo evacuated.

The criminal 57th IB and 5th SF of the 602nd Bde has shed off the vestiges of the AFP’s Oplan Bayanihan as a grossly fascist and anti-people counter-revolutionary program of the US-Aquino Regime. The murders and atrocities in Arakan, North Cotabato has showed that the fascists have no compunction in unleashing their brutality against the people using the deceptive “soft approach” trickery. The toiling masses can only turn to the people’s democratic revolution for genuine justice.
