The Merardo Arce Command Southern Mindanao Regional Operations Command-New People’s Army commends the Herminio Alfonso Command-Guerilla Front 53 Operations Command for implementing the standing order against Patrick Wineger, 48, a rabid anti-communist
businessman-landlord at 7:40 am, March 7, in Ladlaran, Villamarzo St., Kidapawan City. Wineger, who is linked to the murder of Italian priest Fr. Fausto "Pops" Tentorio, was armed with a cal.45 pistol.

Wineger had long been on the NPA's Standing Order for his anti-communist activities in North Cotabato, Davao del Sur, and Bukidnon provinces. His active participation in anti-NPA activities involved the supervision of Lumad military assets and passing of intelligence information to the fascist enemy that led to the death of two NPA Red fighters, and burning to death of a civilian in Saguing, Makilala town. He also placed the NPA units operating in North Cotabato in near-defensive actions, and actively campaigned for the forced recruitment of local lumads as paramilitary Cafgus in cahoots with the 6th Infantry Division-AFP. As a rich trader with close ties with abusive AFP units like the 57th Infantry Battalion and the 10th Special Forces, he sowed fear and intimidation among the masses in the area.

With strong grounds that Wineger committed grave offenses against the revolutionary movement, the NPA military tribunal handed down the decision of capital punishment against him. But said decision was not immediately implemented, even as Wineger's attempts to crush the revolutionary bases in connivance with the AFP intensified.

Wineger was a counter-revolutionary businessman and rabid military asset of the 6th Infantry Division-AFP who was part of the notorious clique of retired Gen. Jovito Palparan and Norberto Gonzales in the implementation of the bloody Oplan Bantay Laya. Wineger continued to be a strategic part of intelligence and paramilitary network of the AFP's counter-revolutionary activities under the auspices of Oplan Bayanihan. He coddled and financed fanatical and anti-NPA Bagani groups, and targeted Fr. Fausto "Pops" Tentorio. Text Messages in Wineger's mobile phone confiscated by the HAC-NPA operatives revealed his role as handler of paramilitary baganis linked with Fr. Tentorio's murder.

Wineger clearly deserved the NPA's punishment. The NPA's partisan operation against Winiger showed that the fascist enemy cannot escape the long arm of revolutionary justice. In fact, Wineger's death is a first step towards achieving full revolutionary justice for the beloved Fr. Tentorio. The swift and timely punishment of one of the principals of Fr. Tentorio's killing stands as a fitting and just
retribution amid the false justice dispensed by the US-Aquino regime.

Fascist leaders of the 6th Infantry Division, Eastern Mindanao Command-AFP and the civilian agents of the US-Aquino regime have perpetuated the lie of having solved the extra-judicial killing of Fr. Tentorio with its ineptitude in handling the criminal case involving Fr. Tentorio's killers and the false identification of the principal(s) to the crime. The AFP and the US-Aquino regime have shamelessly exonerated themselves in the neutralization of Fr. Tentorio under the mantle of the counter-revolutionary Oplan Bayanihan. The fascist enemy brazenly speaks of human rights, peace and development, when in fact, it continues to victimize innocent civilians in its counter-revolutionary war.

Fr. Tentorio's selfless life in service of the people and his martyred death inspire the masses in waging a revolution against the rotten and criminal US-Aquino regime. True justice for Fr. Tentorio can only be attained in defeating Oplan Bayanihan and advancing the people's war.
