The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today congratulated the New People's Army (NPA) Front 88 operations command for successfully carrying out a raid of three armed detachments of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in Sitio Tambo, Barangay Binikalan, San Luis, Agusan del Sur that resulted in the rescue of at least six minors ranging from 12 to 16 years old who were conscripted as CAFGU members by the AFP.

In a radio interview, National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP-Mindanao) spokesman Jorge Madlos ("Ka Oris") said a company of NPA Red fighters carried out the raid before 4:30 this morning and succesfully overran the detachments being manned by CAFGU personnel under the Philippine Army's 4th ID. The NPA has been receiving complaints from local residents against abuses being carried out by Army soldiers and CAFGU personnel in the San Luis detachment.

Corona convicted, but Arroyo still unpunished

May 30, 2012

The Filipino people have long demanded the removal of Chief Justice Renato Corona of the reactionary Supreme Court because he is a stooge of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Thus, the Filipino people and their revolutionary forces welcome Corona's conviction yesterday after more than five months of trial before the Senate convened as an Impeachment Tribunal.

It does not escape the people's attention, however, that Corona was convicted for reasons other than his sordid association with the Arroyo regime, which the Aquino prosecution, appeared to have deliberately refused to underscore during the trial.

"Kadmali" - might be Ay Mali after all!

Simon "Ka Filiw" Naogsan

29 May 2012

SOCIAL Welfare Secretary Corazon "Dinky" Soliman and her ilk should not mistake the bestowal of the "Kadmali" local name on herself by local government officials of the town of Besao, Mountain Province recently as a sign that the people of the Cordillera or at least of that remote town have been lifted from poverty. Far from the truth, the so-called adoption as "daughter of the Mountain Province" early this month is a farce that attempts to cover the failure of the US-Aquino regime's promise to deliver basic services to the people.

For one, the Conditional Cash Transfer or Programa para sa Pantawid sa Pamilyang Pilipino (4Ps) covers only a miniscule portion of the Cordillera population and yet has so many provisions that virtually reduces the actual dole out that is in fact a counterinsurgency ploy and milking cow of unscrupulous politicos and agency heads at different levels.

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) castigated the pro-Aquino Akbayan Party for its culpability for the spate of military abuses and violations of human rights and the rights of children being perpetrated by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in Southern Quezon and the Bondoc Peninsula in the past several months.

“The peasant masses and people of South Quezon and in the Bondoc Peninsula are suffering from grave military abuses as a result of the intensified military operations of the AFP,” said the CPP.
