NPA checkpoints in accordance with revolutionary policy on elections and foreign companies

Units of the New People’s Army under the North Central Mindanao Regional Command simultaneously put up checkpoints today in several areas within four provinces. This is in accordance to the revolutionary policies regarding the conduct of 2013 election. Pamphlets explaining the revolutionary movement’s stand and policies regarding the reactionary election were distributed. Meanwhile, NPA units also launched punitive actions against environmentally-destructive operations and exploitative foreign agribusiness companies who refuse to heed the revolutionary movement’s repeated warnings against the expansion of their plantations.

The following are the latest reports from the field gathered by the Regional Command regarding the coordinated military actions today:

1. Lipa, Quezon, Bukidnon- April 14, 5:00 PM, an NPA unit put up a checkpoint along the Palacapao-Lipa road.

2. Mat-i, Claveria, Misamis Oriental- April 15, 2:00 AM, an NPA unit destroyed the heavy equipment of Dole Phils. Two bulldozers and a backhoe were totally paralyzed while two other equipment were partially damaged. Another unit also harassed the nearby CAFGU detachment which serves as the plantation’s protection.

3. Capihan, Libona, Bukidnon- April 15, 6:00 to 7:20 AM, an NPA unit put up a checkpoint. Simultaneously, the Red fighters destroyed the packing house of Agrinanas, a Del Monte outgrower. The packing house, as well as a motorcycle owned by the company, was completely razed to the ground.

4. Brgy. Can-ayan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon- April 15, an NPA unit put up a checkpoint at around 6:30 to 8:30 AM.

5. Brgy. Lingayao, Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte- April 15, around 7:00 to 9:00 AM. Loloy Torregosa, a CAFGU member, and Alex Maciste, a military asset, were captured but were released immediately afterwards.

6. Brgy. Don Alejandro, San Luis, Agusan del Sur - April 15, from 7:00 to 10:30 AM. Four CAFGU members were captured and are currently held as prisoners of war :

Rejoy Francisco , CAFGU of Mahayahay, 23 y/o
Aka Janjan (not his true name; name undisclosed so as to respect the rights of minors), CAFGU of Km. 41, Binicalan, 17 y/o

7. Brgy. Calabugao, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon- April 15, around 8:00 AM, another NPA unit put up a checkpoint along the Damay-Calabugao Road.

8. Lawit, Gingoog City- NPA put up a checkpoint starting 8:00 AM

9. Lunao, Gingoog City- an NPA unit put up a checkpoint starting 1:25 PM

10. Samay, Gingoog City – an NPA unit put up a checkpoint at 1:00 PM
