The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and all the revolutionary mass organizations under the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) slammed the US-Aquino regime for its unilateral termination of the peace negotiations with the NDFP. Last part of April, MalacaƱang declared that the Government of the Philippines (GPH) has no interest any longer to resume peace negotiations with the NDFP.

To justify its decision, they make it appear that the NDFP has been imposing preconditions for the peace talks to resume. The NDFP clarified the issue by vehemently condemning the GPH Negotiating Panel and the Aquino regime for sowing intrigues against the leaders of the revolutionary movement to cover-up its failure to toe the line set by The Hague Joint Declaration of 1992 and JASIG.

The demand for the release of NDFP Consultants presently incarcerated is not a precondition for the peace talks to resume but GPH's obligation under the JASIG.
