The NDFP firmly affirms the principled basis, historical correctness and legitimacy in practice through the years of its revolutionary struggle for fundamental (political, socio-economic, cultural, and other) reforms in the interest of the mass of the people.  Consistently in pursuit of these, it has developed a significantly large, solid and growing revolutionary following and mass base.

Even if the revolutionary struggle has been protracted (since 1969, already the longest running in the world) and continues to be faced with tough challenges, the determination to advance towards victory and the liberation of the people from long-prevailing political and social ills is unwavering, no matter how formidable may be the resistance of the prevailing state and its forces and how difficult and much longer the struggle would take.

US presence and military exercises hinder peaceful resolution of South China Sea disputes--CPP

June 28, 2013

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) denounced the US and Aquino governments for conducting joint naval exercises in the South China Sea, violating Philippine sovereignty and hindering the peaceful resolution of the South China Sea disputes between the Philippines and China. The naval exercises are part of the US' continuing efforts to build up its military presence in the Asia-Pacific and are clearly acts of provocation against China.

At least three US naval warships--the USS Fitzgerald, the USNS Washington Chamber and the USNS Salvor--are set to participate in the US-RP naval exercises dubbed Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT). The exercises are to be conducted near the Panatag shoal off the coast of Zambales which has been the subject of dispute between the Philippines and China.

His Eminence Archbishop Antonio Ledesma, S.J., Ms. Sharon Rose Joy Ruiz-Duremdez, convenors and members of the Philippine Ecumenical Peace Platform (PEPP), church leaders, observers and guests, PEACE BE WITH YOU! There has never been a more auspicious time than today to firmly stand our ground and work more vigorously towards attaining genuine and lasting peace.

For us, the impetus has been honed by four decades of revolutionary struggle, which have sent thousands of Party cadres, Red commanders and fighters, and hundreds of thousands of masses to selflessly endure tremendous sacrifices in the midst of a civil war to attain the peace we aspire for. Particularly, this has cost the lives of some of your brethren in the vocation, such as Fr. Frank Navarro, Fr. Bert Salac, Fr. Pops Tentorio, Rev. Jeremias Tinambacan, lay workers Tito Marata and Mat Morales and many other religious who boldly chose to take the road less travelled.

Translation: Amplify the Filipino people’s aspirations for nationalist and democratic economics

Comments on Padilla statements on Peace Negotiations in Rappler

Philippine Daily Inquirer, June 22, 2013

Sonny Mallari:  In view of the  recent statements of Alex Padilla in Rappler, are the peace talks already dead?  Please comment on his statements.

JMS:  It is Alex Padilla who says that the peace talks are dead. This may be true, especially during the Aquino regime, which has the illusion that it can destroy the revolutionary movement  with the US-designed Oplan Bayanihan. But I believe that peace advocates will increasingly call for peace negotiations because of the worsening economic and social crisis,  the growing strength of the revolutionary movement and the intensification of the civil war.

NPA ready to defend the people and intensify offensives against Aquino regime's all-out war

Fr. Santiago “Ka Sanny” Salas
National Democratic Front of the Philippines - Eastern Visayas
June 27, 2013

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines-Eastern Visayas today said that 8th Infantry Division chief Gen. Gerardo Layug turned into a laughingstock after media reports of a tactical offensive by the New People's Army in Northern Samar belied his claim that the revolutionary movement in the region will soon be smashed. The media reports state that a soldier was killed and six others wounded in an NPA ambush in Brgy. Lungib, Victoria, Northern Samar last June 25 . Fr. Santiago “Ka Sanny” Salas, NDFP-EV spokesperson, also said that the military is lying in claiming that the NPA used prohibited landmines, when the NPA in fact only uses command-detonated explosives that are allowed under the laws of war. The NDFP-EV spokesperson furthermore belied the military's claim in the Philippine Star that three NPA fighters were killed last June 21 in a raid by 8th ID troops in Pinabacdao, Western Samar. Fr. Salas clarified that the report from the field says the Red fighters successfully defended themselves and all of them withdrew safely with the help of the peasant masses.

Amplify the Filipino people's aspirations for nationalist and democratic economics

Communist Party of the Philippines
June 25, 2013

Under the direction of the US imperialists and the International Monetary Fund and World Bank (IMF-WB), the Aquino regime carries out policies that perpetuate the chronic crisis of the semicolonial and semifeudal economy. Refusing to carry out basic reforms to build a self-reliant, modern and vibrant national economy, the Aquino regime is simply presiding over the further deterioration of the Philippine economy and the widespread destruction of productive forces.

Aquino's claims of so-called "rapid economic growth" are mere rhetoric that fail to strike a chord among the Filipino people. To the toiling masses of workers and peasants, the Philippine economy is incontrovertibly in deep crisis. This is marked by worsening landlessness and land concentration by big landlords and plantation owners, acute joblessness and massive labor migration.

To the Filipino people, the US-Aquino regime's boastful claims of a "rapidly developing economy" are empty. To the toiling masses, the Philippine economy is incontrovertibly in deep crisis. This is a truth that could not be banished even by Aquino's repeated slogans on "inclusive growth" and "sound economic fundamentals."

The intense social crisis is marked by worsening landlessness and land concentration in the hands of big landlords and plantation owners, acute joblessness and massive labor migration.

The toiling people suffer from rock-bottom wages and high prices. Peasants who are landless or who lack land suffer acutely from  various forms of feudal and semifeudal exploitation. The masses of workers are subjected to various forms of "flexible labor policies" that ravage their job security, pull down their wages and deprive them of their democratic rights. Even those in the middle social strata are in dire straits because of severe unemployment, very inadequate incomes and the skyrocketing cost of living, education and health services.
