Translation: Rise in mass protest against Obama October visit

Ariel Inda Magbanwag
South Central Bukidnon Subregional Command

September 18, 2013

Units of the New People’s Army under the South Central Bukidnon Subregional Command attacked the camp of the criminal bandit group NIPAR (New Indigenous People’s Army for Reform) led by Aldie “Butsoy” Salusad, September 16, 2013, around 5:00 AM in Sitio Kiranggol, Brgy. Dao, San Fernando, Bukidnon. The attack was launched in response to the overdue demands for justice of this group’s victims.

One was killed while five other bandit members were wounded inside their fortified camp in a chain of sporadic firefight which lasted for more than two hours. Surprised by the sudden assault of the revolutionary army, some armed bandits ran and hid among civilians; they returned fire using the gold panners in the area as human shield.

We, peace consultants of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines, detained at Camp Crame, resolutely join the ever-rising militant protests of the Filipino people against the bureaucratic stealing of public funds by the US-Aquino regime.

As the ordinary Filipino says: “Ang busog naging bundat!”.(The satiated became corpulent)

The masses of the people are angry and disgusted at the regime's maneuvers, cover-ups, and schemes to hide this massive misuse of the people's money that feed the insatiable greed of the ruling class; and to protect from the prosecution the whole government bureaucracy (executive, legislative and judiciary) that is responsible for the proliferation and malignancy of wanton corruption and political patronage of this rotten state.

Rise in mass protest against Obama October visit

Communist Party of the Philippines
September 19, 2013

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) calls on the Filipino people and their patriotic and democratic forces to stand firmly and rise up in mass protest against the visit of US imperialist chieftain Barrack Obama on October 11-12 and the planned signing of the framework agreement to allow the US military to more thoroughly use the Philippines as a military base.

The CPP calls on the Filipino people to raise their voices in protest over the all-out subservience of the Aquino regime to the US government in providing the US military unrestricted access to Philippine facilities. The CPP urges the Filipino people to protest the rapid degradation of Philippine sovereignty under the Aquino regime. The Aquino regime has exhibited utter obsequiousness to the foreign policy dictates of the US government in support of the US' strategic aim of "pivoting" towards Asia.

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) condemned the successive dockings of US and Japanese warships in Philippine ports in the past few days as an "affront on Philippine sovereignty."

NPA launches six harassment operations this week

Alan Juanito
NPA North Central Mindanao Regional Operations Command (Julito Tiro Command)
September 12, 2013

To frustrate the vicious Oplan Bayanihan and punish the corrupt Aquino regime for its anti-people and anti-peace rule, NPA-NCMR has intensified its tactical offensives. These past few days, Red fighters attacked fascist troops in several guerrilla fronts in the region, serious casualties—ten killed and five wounded among the reactionary troops.

Sept. 8, 2013 – around 8:20 AM, an NPA harassment team attacked 8th IB-PA troops launching combat operations in Brgy. Bolunay, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon, wounding one soldier. Enemy troops immediately withdrew after a reckless barrage of gunfire, indicating a low fighting morale among their ranks, even after the recently concluded re-training of their whole battalion.
Sept. 9, 2013 – around 10:30 AM, an armed NPA team under the Mt. Kitanglad Subregional Command harassed 8th IB troops in Sitio Butok, Brgy. Capihan, Libona, Bukidnon. Two enemy soldiers were killed while one was wounded.

The US-Aquino regime is inept at achieving genuine peace

Cesar Renerio
NDFP North Central Mindanao Chapter
September 12, 2013

Nothing could be starker than the US-Aquino regime’s incompetence in addressing the crisis brought about by its failure to provide a genuine solution to the long-running struggle of the Moro people for their right to self-determination. Hostilities have been going on in Zamboanga City for half a week now, claiming several lives, wounding a number of people and dislocating some 16,000 civilians. Until now, a positive outcome is yet to be seen. Just and lasting peace remains elusive in Mindanao.

The devious Bangsamoro Framework Agreement it has offered the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has only succeeded in further dividing the ranks of the Moro people. The Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Movement under Ameril Umra Kato rose to continue armed resistance, while Nur Misuari’s MNLF is taking up arms once more to pressure the reactionary government to heed their demands.
