The Pambansang Katipunan ng mga Magbubukid (PKM), a revolutionary peasant organization allied with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) today called on all its organizations in typhoon Yolanda-devastated areas to launch intensified land occupation and contribute to the immediate rehabilitation, recovery, and expansion of the revolutionary mass base.

PKM spokesperson Andres Agtalon said that “super typhoon Yolanda’s aftermath not only paralyzed the reactionary government but the big landlords themselves.”

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Philippines hereby announces a one-month extension of the earlier ceasefire declaration issued to commands of the New People's Army (NPA) and units of the people's militias operating in the areas devastated by the November 8 supertyphoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan).

Dahil sa aming lakas-paggawa kaya may halaga ang lupa;
At ang ani niya ang bumubuhay sa amin,
Kami at ang lupa ay iisa!

Subalit sino ang makikinig?
Makikinig ba sila,
Silang di nakikita,
Sila, na napakalayo, na umaangkin
Na sa kanila ang lupa?
Dahil yaon ang sinasabi ng kapirasong papel?
Dahil ang kapirasong papel ay suportado
Ng lalaking nagbabanta;

US’ Trojan Horse arrival and open-ended disaster intervention must be denounced

Kabataang Makabayan
November 21, 2013

The Kabataang Makabayan denounces the arrival of US’ Trojan Horse USS George Washington, a high-powered, nuclear-carrying warship in the guise of ‘relief and humanitarian mission’ in Eastern Visayas in the aftermath of supertyphoon Yolanda.

The USS Washington which is carrying around 5000 US naval troops, embarked in an open-ended mission in Central Philippines using disaster relief as its cover. This is aside from the 243 US Marines were deployed within the week after the supertyphoon and the 700 US Special Forces stationed in Zamboanga more than a decade now. It is reported that around 13, 000 US troops are involved directly and indirectly in this disaster interventionism which US euphemistically called “Operation Damayan”.

Shameless 5th ID combat operations amidst national calamity punished by the NPA

Leonardo Pacsi Command
NPA-Mountain Province
November 20, 2013

Two punitive attacks were successfully launched by the Leonardo Pacsi Command (LPC)-NPA Mountain Province against a commando unit of operating troops of the 50th IB and 503rd Infantry Brigade PA last November 15-16 at the boundary of the towns of Besao and Sagada of Mountain Province and Tubo of Abra.  At least three soldiers were seriously wounded in the said military action of the LPC. Instead of helping the nation recover from the devastation of Typhoon Yolanda, the 5th ID chooses to spend millions on military operations.

The said commando unit secretly entered the vicinity of Mount Tabbak last November 14.  But unknowingly, this was monitored by people’s army.  The following day, a team of NPA red fighters sniped the advancing enemy troops.  And on November 16, the NPA attacked the same troops while they were resting at Mount Amtinangad.

Comrades of the Communist Party of the Philippines:

We express our deep sorrow for the tragedy caused by Super Typhoon Yolanda, mourned today the people of the Philippines.

Nature has unloaded its forces, this time on the archipelago, but the magnitude of destructive power that has plunged into a great tragedy to the Filipino people is directly linked to global imperialist system, whose anarchy in production and supreme law of profit in command, unfortunately destroys nature, and it takes its price to the society.

If the Land Could Speak

If the land could speak
It would speak for us,
It would say, like us, that the years
Have forged the bond of life that ties us together.
It was our labor that made the land what she is;
And it was her yielding that gave us life,
We and the land are one!

But who would listen?
Will they listen,
Those invisible,
Who, from an unfeeling distance, claim
The land is theirs?
Because pieces of paper say so?
Because the pieces of paper are backed by men
Who speak threatening words;
Men who have power to shoot and to kill,
Men who have power to take our men and our sons away?

If the land could speak
It would speak for us!
For the land is us!

NDF calls for united front of disaster victims

Rubi del Mundo
NDFP-Southern Mindanao
November 21, 2013

The survivors of Typhoon Pablo must unite with the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda in the face of the Aquino government's blatant ineptitude, corruption, state neglect and the worsening crisis of the semi-feudal economy. The Filipino people cannot simply rely on the spin of Aquino and Aquino's men, as well as from debt-laden imperialist donors. While reeling from their loss, Yolanda victims have only to look at the experiences of disaster survivors in Southern Mindanao to learn that only through militant struggle and revolutionary perseverance can they survive the nightmare of Yolanda.

Nearly one year after Typhoon Pablo walloped the vast forests and farms of millions of indigenous peoples, peasants, banana workers and other agricultural workers, Typhoon Pablo survivors continue to wallow in utter poverty and oppression. Pablo victims in many of the revolutionary base areas have only received scant relief goods from the Aquino government, under conditions of unrehabilitated farms,roads and infrastructure. The relief goods were sparsely distributed over delayed periods of time. Worse, some of the relief goods and rehabilitation materials like galvanized steel were maximized and utilized for political patronage in the recent barangay elections.

NDFP-EV denounces Aquino government's inutility in aiding calamity victims, calls for speedy humanitarian assistance

November 21, 2013

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines in Eastern Visayas commiserates with the millions of people who suffered losses of lives and properties in the region and elsewhere in the country due to Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) last November 8. We condemn the gross incompetence and unreadiness of the Aquino government even though weather forecasts had already warned days in advance of the category 4 superstorm and the expected massive flooding from the storm surge.  The Aquino government only made token announcements and evacuations, did not stock food and water, and did not prepare emergency services. Rather than passing the buck to the local government, it should have been the responsibility of the national  governmment to ensure the safety and well-being of the people because of the scale and scope of the calamity.
