Dear comrades of the Communist Party of the Philippines, the National Democratic Front and the New People’s Army

Communist Reconstruction Union
São Paulo, 8th February of 2014

All the militants of our organization send to comrade Jose Maria Sison, great leader of the Philippine Revolution, its warmest salutes on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of his birth. We all feel delighted to join the Philippine revolutionary forces in celebrating his birthday, as well as pleased to have such a staunch and steel-like Marxist-Leninist like him as a close friend of the Communist Reconstruction Union of Brazil and our struggle.

Comrade Jose Maria Sison made enormous contributions to the world revolution by rejecting the attempts of Lava brothers and other opportunists to destroy the struggle of the Philippine proletariat and people for genuiny democracy, independence and socialism. Comrade Sison’s correct struggle against revisionism has led to the reestablishment of the Communist Party of the Philippines in 1968 under the ideological base of Marxism-Leninism-Mao Zedong Thought and the resume of the Philippine Revolution which was temporarily aborted by the revisionists. The building of the New People’s Army (the Philippine Red Army) and the start of the revolutionary armed struggle in 1969 has marked the beggining of one of the most important armed movements of liberation of the current days. Jose Maria Sison, in this sense, is no different from the greatest exponents of Marxism-Leninism in our country, like Pedro Pomar, Mauricio Grabois, João Amazonas and Diógenes Arruda Camara, who denounced the old party revisionist yaw in 1958 and reestablished the revolutionary party of the working class, the former Communist Party of Brazil, in 1962. The Communist Party of the Philippines led by Comrade Sison, then, stayed in the field of proletarian revolutionaries who world-wide upheld Marxism-Leninism against Soviet revisionism and reformism.

Even after being arrested by the class enemy – US-Ferdinand Marcos fascist-comprador dictatorship –, who cowardly made several crimes against him for leading the Revolution in his country, and staying nine years in prison, comrade Sison never gave up the revolutionary struggle and his conviction on Marxism-Leninism-Mao Zedong Thought. This is clearly shown by the fact that, even after more than five decades since the beggining of his revolutionary struggle, US imperialism, reactionaries, capitalists and all this bunch of garbage continue to slander him as a “terrorist”, “enemy of democracy”, “subversive”, etc., assaulting him, his relatives, and desrespecting his elementary democratic rights, like freedom to come and go, and even to find a job. In this respect, it is a task of the Communists of the whole world to show solidarity to him, rejecting the evil maneuvers of US imperialism to harm comrade Sison.

As a great proletarian internationalist, comrade Jose Maria Sison had concretly shown solidarity to the struggle of the Brazilian people against US imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism, denouncing the Brazilian government’s evil maneuvers to reppress our people’s struggles during the huge June 2013 protests, to totally denationalize our land and strategic natural resouces (mainly during the auction of Libra oil field) and turn our country to a complete colony of US imperialism. We feel pleased and motivated for having the support of such a great friend and vetheran of the revolutionary struggle like comrade Joma. We look forward to strengthen even more our friendship with him and the CPP-NPA-NDF.

Wishing comrade Jose Maria Sison a happy birthday, good health and many more years of service to the peoples of the Philippines and the world, we send him and the CPP-NPA-NDF, once again, combative and militant salutes.

“Pulang saludo, Ka Joma!”
