Mt. Alip Command (Front 72) – NPA Farsouth Mindanao forces celebrate the 45th anniversary of the CPP with a strong resolve that higher forms of mass base consolidation will be implemented in the area. This means, more seeds and organs of revoltuionary government will be established in the near future.

For its record, NPA in the whole region did not suffer any defensive armed actions nor any single casulaty against enemy forces last year (2013) but tactical offensives were successfully launched that inflicted casualties on the enemy side and firearms confiscated.

Warmest greetings! It is a milestone for you to reach your 75th birthday. In line with this, we would like to have an online interview on how you are doing and your take on the issues of the day.

We provide below 12 questions and we hope you can provide your brief answers (if it could be brief).

Thank you and wishing you the best for your birthday.

1. How does it feel to have lived three quarters of a century, especially with regard to how Philippine history has turned out since your move to re-establish the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) in 1968?

JMS: I feel happy for having lived long enough to see how the CPP has grown nationwide and struck deep roots among the toiling masses of workers and peasants. The CPP has 150,000 members. It leads the thousands of Red fighters in the New People's Army and the millions of people in mass organizations. It is at the helm of the people's democratic government in 115 guerrilla fronts which cover large portions of 71 provinces.

Juliet de Lima-Sison
Amsterdam, Netherlands
09 February 2014

The Center for Social Studies has been formed since 1991 as a center for research and training activists to counter the ideological, political, economic, cultural and military offensives of the US and its allies and puppets.

Under the direction of Prof. Jose Maria Sison, the Center has achieved a modest amount of success in organizing conferences and seminars to allow the representatives of progressive Filipino organizations to exchange ideas and experiences with the representatives of partner organizations in other countries.

Friends from the Philippines and other parts of the world sent congratulatory messages and video presentations.

The celebration was highlighted by the launching of Prof. Sison's latest book of selected writings, 'Building Strength Through Struggle', and the launching of a campaign to revitalize the Center for Social Studies, a school for students and practitioners of social change. The afternoon program was accentuated by various heartwarming cultural performances, such as readings and musical renditions of his poems, chants and dances of his recent speeches, showing of music videos like “Pulang Saludo, Ka Joma” (Red Salute, Comrade Joma!), and surprise numbers from his family.

Speech at Book Launching

Prof. Jose Maria Sison
Founding Chairman, Communist Party of the Philippines
09 February 2014

    Mirror Centre, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Dear comrades, friends and compatriot,

First of all, I thank the organizers and all of you for coming. I am overwhelmed and humbled by this celebration. I came to this event, thinking that I would sit back and enjoy myself most of the time. But Julie has made a proposal to further activate me in connection with the revitalization and expansion of the work of the Center for Social Studies. I am thus reminded that there is no sitting back and no retirement for revolutionaries.

I am happy that Building Strength Through Struggle, the third book in the series of five books titled Continuing the Philippine Revolution, is now being launched in The Netherlands in conjunction with the celebration of my 55 years of service to the revolutionary cause of the Filipino people as well as my 75 years of existence outside of the womb.

Comrade Maria Malaya, NDFP spokesperson for Northeastern Mindanao, extends her warm greetings to Prof. Jose Maria Sison's 75th birthday.

In her recollection, she stressed how the Philippine Society and Revolution book, written by Amado Guerrero (Prof. Jose Maria Sison), helped her in combating counter-revolutionary ideas spearheaded by adventurist and opportunist elements during the pre-Second Great Rectification Movement.

Unleash a surge of protest to hold the US-Aquino regime accountable [ANG BAYAN, 07 February 2014]

Ang Bayan
February 10, 2014

More than two months after supertyphoon Yolanda’s rising seas and howling winds laid waste to the lives and livelihoods of millions of people across vast areas of the Visayas, it is now the people’s turn to surge in anger and protest against the Aquino regime’s criminal negligence and extreme incompetence.

On January 25, the collective footsteps of up to 12,000 victims of typhoon Yolanda thundered through Tacloban’s main thoroughfare. Like single waves gathering to create a powerful ocean tide, the people’s mass movement vigorously bared the people’s real conditions and cried for an end to the ruling regime that persists in stifling the reality of widespread devastation, poverty and hunger.

The National Democratic Front-Bicol demands the immediate surfacing of comrades George Villacorta Geluz and Silvestre Layones Jr by their abductors from the Philippine National Police Regional Command in Bicol. Comrade George Geluz was captured at a police checkpoint in Gumaca, Quezon on 08 February 2014 at 11 PM, while Comrade Silvestre Layones Jr was seized by state forces in Naga City on 09 February 2014 at 3:30 AM.

Both have yet to be turned up to the public by the PNP Regional Command based at Camp Simeon Ola in Legazpi City. Families and friends of these comrades are deeply worried as to the possible harm that may befall the two beloved revolutionaries in the hands of PNP torturers. It is the families’ right to be informed of the whereabouts and conditions of comrades Geluz and Layones.

Mga Kasama at Kaibigan,

Lubos kong ikinagagalak at ikinararangal ang paglalabas ng tatlong aklat: “Defeating Revisionism, Reformism and Opportunism”, “Building Strength through Struggle” at “Celebration”.
