Revolution is the only enduring path towards the genuine liberation of women

Jorge Madlos (Ka Oris)

08 March 2014

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines in Mindanao gives praise to all toiling Filipino women on the celebration of International Women's Day, saluting revolutionary women in particular for their perseverance in consistently carrying forward the struggle for genuine women's liberation along the line of the national democratic revolution.

The exploitation and oppression of women continues to intensify under the present semi-feudal and semi-colonial system, which is perpetuated by US imperialism and its local lackeys whose current handpicked head of state, Benigno Aquino III, treats women like objects. Filipino women suffer greatly under a social order that perpetuates women as passive, inferior, decorative members of society and domestic slaves, given only tokenistic recognition of their rights, unheeding to the struggles of their sector.

The Filipino people face a great battle in their historic defense of the nation's sovereignty. Their enemy in this battle is the puppet Aquino regime which is now going all-out in pushing for changes in the provisions of the reactionary 1987 constitution in accordance with US imperialist desires.

Aquino has pulled all stops in using government funds to fuel the cha-cha train.

The entire people must take action and unite to block and derail this scheme by the US-Aquino regime whose end is no other than to condemn the Philippines to new depths of foreign exploitation and plunder.

Women of the world, unite against imperialist globalization

Prof. Jose Maria Sison
Chairperson, International League of Peoples' Struggle
March 8, 2014

Imperialism is destroying the lives of women. It is aggravating the exploitation of women and intensifying attacks on women's rights. Through the quintuple  neoliberal policies of pressing down wages, liberalization,  privatization, deregulation and denationalization, imperialism has reversed whatever gains the working women's movement has gained in more than a century of struggles. This is the context of our International Women's Day Commemoration this year.

Strewn along the path of neoliberalism are the tortured bodies of hundreds of millions of working women squeezed dry by monopoly capitalist extraction of superprofits. Outsourcing by big multinational corporations have depressed already low wages of workers, with developing countries trying to outdo each other in offering the lowest possible wages to outbid their rivals for contracts. Contractualization of labor, increased production quotas, shorter breaks, and extended working hours have now become the norm.

More....

CPP regrets injury of civilian medical personnel in March 2 NPA ambush; denounces AFP for concealing ambulances in military convoy

Communist Party of the Philippines
March 07, 2014

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) deeply regretted the wounding of four civilian medical personnel belonging to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) who were accidentally injured in an ambush carried out by a unit of the New People's Army at 7 pm last March 2, in Barangay Managa, Bansalan, Davao del Sur. At the same time, the CPP denounced the AFP's 39th Infantry Battalion for concealing the ambulance and endangering the lives of the civilian medical personnel.

According to initial reports by the NPA field unit, the Red fighters who carried out the ambush detonated an explosive against a convoy of two 6x6 military trucks. They succeeded in hitting the second truck but shrapnel inadvertently hit a trailing ambulance. The NPA unit reported that the Red fighters failed to distinguish the ambulance as it did not blare its sirens and turned off its lights.

Aquino risks leaving legacy of killing peace talks – NDFP

Luis Jalandoni
Chairperson, NDFP Negotiating Panel
March 7, 2014

The Royal Norwegian Government (RNG) and peace advocates declare support for the willingness of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) to hold informal peace talks with the Aquino government (GPH). But GPH President Aquino runs the risk of destroying chances for a negotiated peace with the NDFP by certain actions of his in violation of the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL).

President Aquino's appointment of former Philippine National Police General Lina Sarmiento as Chairperson of the Victims' Claimants Board and the exclusion of genuine representatives of the almost 10,000 victims of human rights violations under the Marcos dictatorship, constitute an act to sabotage the GPH-NDFP peace talks.

Mensahe ng Pagkundena sa Pampulitikang Persekusyon sa Maragondon, Cavite

Simeon Magdiwang
NDFP-Cavite
Marso 6, 2014

Gear up to stop Aquino's chacha train--CPP

Information Bureau
Communist Party of the Philippines

March 05, 2014

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today called on the Filipino people to gear up to do battle in order to put a stop to the Aquino regime's speeding charter-change (chacha) train.

"Benigno Aquino III is exerting all-out effort to provide the chacha train full momentum in order to ram through the anti-national provisions that will allow foreign big capitalists to own land and operate their business in the Philippines without restrictions," said the CPP.

"The CPP joins the Filipino people in denouncing the reactionary Philippine House of Representatives and its committee on constitutional amendments for ramming through the resolution to amend the 1987 constitution and approving it in less than two weeks and after just several perfunctory hearings."

Karumal-dumal na Pagpatay ng 201st Brigade sa isang Hors De Combat na NPA, Kinundena ng Apolonio Mendoza Command

Ka Armine De Guia
Apolonio Mendoza Command, NPA-Quezon
Marso 2, 2014

Obama, Aquino equally drenched with the blood of victims of rights abuses--CPP

Information Bureau
Communist Party of the Philippines
March 03, 2014

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) charged that the US government is just as responsible as the Aquino regime for the grave violations of human rights perpetrated by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Philippine National Police (PNP) and various state paramilitaries under the regime's Oplan Bayanihan.

The CPP statement was issued in reaction to the published contents of the US State Department's 2013 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices which cited continuing extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances undertaken by security forces in the Philippines.
