The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) condemns the US government and its security, defense and intelligence apparatus for conducting cellphone surveillance in the Philippines where the US collects all text messages and metadata in an outright case of interventionism in violation of Philippine national sovereignty and in all-out contempt of Filipino privacy rights and local laws.

"The CPP calls on the Filipino people to unite and denounce US spying in the Philippines and demand the revelation of all details of US spy operations in the country. The Filipino people must stand firm and demand an immediate end to US spying operations."

Mayor Navarro is lying as logging is rampant in Laak villages in video footages

Laak Mayor Rey Navarro is misrepresenting himself when he denied being part of the Big 4 logging lords. Raw footages taken by comrades (see attached) showed rampant logging in several interior roads in Brgy. Ampawid and Brgy.Andap--proof that actual logging is taking place in Laak town. Navarro attempted to absolve himself by saying that Laak was merely a transit point of trucks coming from the boundary of agusandelsur, site of logging operations.

Indiscriminate cutting of trees were also monitored in Brgy. Titoy and Datu Davao. Navarro even ordered village officials in Datu Davao to fix interior roads to facilitate logging activities which he sponsored, according to the officials themselves who reported to the New People’s Army of Navarro’s direct participation in the logging activities.

Defeat the AFP's campaign of suppression in Mindanao! [ANG BAYAN, 2014 May 21]

Ang Bayan Video
May 23, 2014

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) condemns in the strongest terms possible the intensified war of suppression being carried out by the Aquino regime and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) against the peasant masses and Lumad communities, as well as against the Moro people, across the different regions in Mindanao. The aim is to suppress the people’s resistance, both their democratic mass struggles and their revolutionary armed movement, in order to pave the way for the entry of big foreign mining, logging and plantation operations in various parts of Mindanao.
The CPP joins the Filipino people in condemning the Aquino regime for squandering billions of pesos for its heightened military campaign in Mindanao while the majority of the people continue to wallow in poverty. At the same time, the Aquino regime adamantly refuses to heed the people’s demand for rehabilitation in the areas devastated by supertyphoon Pablo in December 2012. Worse, it has allowed mining and logging firms to continue its operations even in the towns which suffered destructive mudflows resulting from widespread denudation.

Translation: Hold Aquino responsible for death of Andrea’s baby—CPP

Speech delivered at the Famine Walk, Co. Mayo, Ireland
Filipino people strive for food sovereignty, national and social liberation

Luis G. Jalandoni
NDFP Chief International Representative
May 17, 2014

Dear Friends, fellow participants in this Famine Walk,

In the Philippines, there is a fierce struggle for food sovereignty being waged by the working people who produce the food but who are denied their basic right to food, health, and life. Peasants, workers, indigenous people and fisherfolk are among 70% of the population who struggle to survive with only PhP100 or €1.70 per day. This measly amount is insufficient to provide the basic daily need for food. Upon sickness, there is no money for medicines. Much less for housing and schooling.

Why is this such, in a country with 9.7 million hectares of fertile agricultural land, marine resources abounding in fish, rich mineral resources with the country no. 3 in the world in gold deposits, no. 4 in copper, no. 5 in nickel, and no. 6 in chromite.

Translation: Protest the P71 million World Economic Forum junket for foreign big capitalists

Translation: CPP demands release of NDFP Visayas peace consultant

The CPP today issued the following statement:

The leadership and entire membership of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) condole with political prisoner Andrea Rosal and her entire family for the untimely death of her 2-day old daughter, Diona, after suffering from hypoxemia, or lack of oxygen in the blood.

The death of Baby Diona cannot but be related to the inhuman conditions suffered by Andrea in her detention cell and the denial of prenatal medical care.

Protest the P71 million World Economic Forum junket for foreign big capitalists

Communist Party of the Philippines
May 19, 2014

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) joins the Filipino people in denouncing the Aquino regime for spending P71 million to host foreign corporate executives and government officials who are set to participate in the junket that is the World Economic Forum in East Asia at the Shangri-La Hotel in Makati on May 21-23.

The amount being spent by the Aquino regime to provide lavish accommodations to executives and officials is outrightly scandalous when one considers how hundreds of thousands of supertyphoon Yolanda victims continue to suffer from government neglect, how the youth and their parents are set to bear the impact of another round of tuition increases, how workers are daily burdened by low wages, high prices and lack of jobs, how the poor are denied access to quality public health services and how peasants are being robbed of their land.

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today demanded the immediate release of NDFP peace consultant for the Visayas Roy Erecre who was arrested last May 7, 2014 in Barangay Bajada, Davao City by joint military and police forces. Mr. Erecre is currently detained at the Bohol district jail in Tagbilaran City.

"The arrest of Mr. Erecre is another act of gross violation of the Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees (JASIG) which provides safety and immunity guarantees to either party's peace talks personnel. The JASIG prohibits either party to surveil, arrest, detain and prosecute the other party's negotiators, consultants and staff members," said the CPP.

Paquibato Proper kaniadtong Mayo 17, 5am.
